In 2013, wildlife action plan coordinators from the northeastern states worked together to develop a standard Lexicon for State Wildlife Action Plans. As a result, it was possible to combine the states' four foundational elements - conservation actions that address threats to key habitats and species of greatest conservation need.
The database can be downloaded at neafwa.org/Resources.
This database has been maintained and updated to include additional details for Regional Species of Greatest Conservation Need. Method documentation explains how new data fields were selected to outline, for each species, the specific threats responsible for the population declines. Taxa team representatives throughout the region reviewed the information and provided references from over 300 publications.
As a result of this new information, TCI prepared reports discussing themes resulting from the review. Read more about these results.
